Hits like “Red Dress,” “Freak like Me” and “Hole in the Head” are all included and make you realise the whole fascination with Atomic Kitten at one stage was just, so not on, girlfriend.

It only took 7 years for the Sugababes to rack up enough chart toppers to release a Greatest Hits collection. And they went with a cute name for the album… Overloaded. With only 14 tracks on the CD, one could quite rightfully ask whether they shouldn’t have waited another year or two before they decided to call something Overloaded. But this album’s saving grace is the fact that there’s no filler tunes… every song has hit written all over it. With the departure of one band member in 2005 and the arrival of another shortly thereafter, the Babes are set to continue pushing all the right buttons with fans.

What would a super all-girl band be without all the press coverage on the perceived moodiness, alleged backstage catfights and press junket tantrums. Throughout the years, there’s been constant rumours about fighting within the band and splitting up. Yet, listening to the collection of songs here, they sound like they’ve been friends since the age of 12, regularly getting together for pyjama parties and watching girly movies… Overloaded is filled with innocent sounding girly pop. That’s not meant as an insult… it really is a great CD to listen to.

Also included is “Too lost in you,” a hauntingly beautiful ballad and the hit from the movie “Love Actually.” But the girls are better known for their catchier pop anthems like “In the Middle” and “Push the Button,” also included on Overloaded.
Only one new single is included, namely “Easy,” getting extensive airplay on MTV and really making it look just too easy for these girls to score hit after hit.

All in all, probably more something for the girls then. But guys, if you’re still thinking about the pyjama party image mentioned earlier in this review, you can’t go wrong getting an overload of the Sugababes.
