The Miss World contestants bid the bush goodbye in a glitzy gala event at the Legend Golf & Safari Resort in Limpopo.

Following a two-day retreat to the picturesque Waterberg region in Limpopo, 112 of the world’s most gorgeous women flaunted their crowned beauty at a red-carpet event hosted by the Legend Golf & Safari Resort ahead of their trek back to Johannesburg this morning.

Many of our local celebs headed north for the gala event, including Dan Nichol who brings the tongue-in-cheek “Dan Nichol Report” on Jacaranda 94.2’s Just Plain Breakfast show. Jacaranda 94.2 Jukebox presenter and popular Afrikaans singer Kurt Darren and his fiance were also on the star-studded guestlist.

Limpopo Premier Cassel Matale treated our foreign guests to an inspiring keynote address in which he expressed the hope that the contestants will not leave the area without remembering it. He also acknowledged the contribution of Legend Golf & Safari Resort CEO Peet Cilliers for his contribution to the province, thanking him for “turning the province around”.

Miss Columbia Daniela Lalinde is one of the strong contenders for the Miss World crown. She walked away as the overall winner of the Legend programme.

The night, however, belonged to the stunning beauties who sparkled and shined in their evening wear. Miss Columbia Daniela Lalinde was definitely a crowd pleaser as she shared the stage with South Africa’s very own mentalist Larry Soffer who wowed the crowd with his magic tricks. She would later be selected as the overall winner of the Legend Golf and Safari Resort programme.

Miss Ghana, Mawuse Appea was without a doubt one of the best dressed contestants.

Miss Korea Joori Kim stood out in this colourful creation

Lalinde, Korea’s Joori Kim and Ghana’s Mawuse Appea were without a doubt among the best dressed ladies. Guyana’s Kaierouann Radix, however scored a massive miss to be the evening’s worst dressed contestant – although she would never admit to it!

Massive fail by Guyana’s Kaierouann Radix, walking away as the evening’s worst dressed contestant!

The Miss World final will be held at Gallagher Estate in Midrand on 12 December where the reigning Miss World, Russia’s Ksenia Sukhinova will officially hand over her crown. Tickets for the event are on sale at Computicket and ticket prices range from R780 to R1440.
