A perfect match to help out a single dad get back on the road

REQUEST FOR: Anthony from Pretoria 

ANGEL: Listener Mandy Ford.

SPONSORING: A brand new Big Boy retro scooter. Our listener would also help to register the scooter in Anthony's name and her friend has offered to supply Anthony with a helmet and a jacket! Another friend will give Anthony R3 000 to help him dress his daughter for her matric farewell.

BACKGROUND:

Some matches just happen ... We recently received an email from a Good Morning Angels listener, Mandy Ford. She had won a Big Boy Scooter at a bike show and as she already had a bike, asked us to look out for a deserving recipient who could make use of her brand new scooter. A week or so later, we received another email from a listener, who wishes to stay anonymous, regarding a Pretoria single dad, Anthony. He used a scooter to commute to work, until his only mode of transport was written off in an accident at the end of last year. The only thing we had to do, was to bring the two of them together ....

Below is the original offer we received:

Good Morning,

I was wondering if you could use a scooter to donate to someone in need.  I won a Big Boy retro scooter at a bike show on Sunday and as I already have a bike, I don't think I could do it justice. I would really like to see it go to someone who could benefit from having it as some form of transport.

The donation does not have to form part of the "Good Morning Angels" show, I would just like someone in need to receive it so it does not just stand and gather dust.

Hi

I farm with eggs and on my deliveries I got to know Anthony.  He manages a Burgundy's in Pretoria.  He is a single dad with a daughter in Grade 12.

Anthony used to commute to work with a scooter - his only form of transport. Last year a taxi collided with him, and his scooter was destroyed. Now Anthony has to make use of taxis to get to work as he cannot afford  to buy a new scooter or anything else. Is it possible to help him?
