RELOCATING OUR R512 FAMILIES

Jacaranda 94.2 and the Just Plain Breakfast are in the process of relocating two families who were living on the R512 road to a new home in Olievenhoudtsbosch. Both families are currently staying a temporary housing while their new permanent homes are under construction. This project has evoked an overwhelming response from our Jacaranda listeners and the list of donations is endless. Some of these donations include a stand in Olievenhoudtsbosch and two houses sponsored houses from separate building companies. Hi EVERYBODY!

Project update after my site visit on 29/11/2009.
Herewith the status of housing project 512:
The earthworks for both the houses are complete. The municipality has approved both house plans.

APC - Homes:

APC Homes Ltd - Jacaranda Relocation of R512 Family

The APC Building module is a new building system that evolved out of the tried and tested Classy Crete CC precast plastering company. The building module utilizes building material that has been around for decades - precast wall slabs and pillars similar to the precast walling system for boundary walls. The strength of these slightly adjusted precast slabs, 30mpa, compared to the 8mpa of standard building bricks, delivers a house in mere days as opposed to months with outstanding qualities such as increased energy efficiency, durability and construction cost savings. Although built with alternative building materials, APC Homes delivers a house that is indistinguishable from a conventionally built structure and can be used for any building need.

The APC Homes Building module carries an Agrément building Certificate (#2009/355). Agrément SA is a division of the government institution CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) that controls the investigation of alternative building methods. They ensure, through rigorous testing, that the building method complies with National Building Regulations. The APC Homes Building method far exceeded their expectations and through Agrément SA, APC Homes Ltd is entitled to issue building licenses to all prospective builders country wide. Our aim is to have an APC builder in every town, nationwide, and we are fast approaching our goal.
