After months of silence Amor Vittone tells her side of the story.

An emotional Amor Vittone told Jacaranda 94.2 in an exclusive interview this morning that she is working on her marriage with rugby hero Joost van der Westhuizen. Van der Westhuizen released a book in which he confesses to being the man in the sex video released earlier this year.

When he eventually came clean and told his wife in August that he was in fact the person in the steamy video, she told him: 'I defended you, I trusted you.' And she did not speak to him for three days. She told breakfast presenter Darren Scott that it felt as if her heart was torn from her body. But now she is willing to work on their marriage, but has considered time apart in order for her to think.

Vittone told Jacaranda 94.2 how the makers of the Joost sex video turned their lives into a nightmare. She told listeners of threatening calls to her home and cell phone. The callers wanted R500 000 and threatened to kidnap their children. They increased security after she came home one night and found their house was ransacked.

Her sixth sense told her that something was wrong. They wanted to go to the police but Joost was told private investigators will solve the problem. At the time they stood together and bonded. Vittone still believes the makers of the sex video are behind the threats against her family.

When Joost told her in August that it was him in the video, ''I felt like I died a million deaths,'' an emotional Vittone told Jacaranda 94.2. ''Normally I'm on top of things, but today I'm feeling.....emotional.''

In the exclusive interview with Jacaranda 94.2 Vittone denied she and her rugby-star husband ever presented themselves as the Posh and Becks of South Africa. It irritated them, she said.

She acknowledged that there was a lot of pressure on them as a couple in the spotlight and everyone wanted a piece of them. They also had to learn where to draw the line. Although they welcomed the attention, the invasion on their privacy became an issue.
