Child drowns in Randburg

There has been yet another child drowning in Gauteng.

Another child has drowned in Gauteng over the weekend. In the latest incident, a 3-year-old boy has drowned in a pool in Malanshof in Randburg, Johannesburg on Sunday afternoon, ER24 said.

Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said it is unclear how the boy got access to the pool.

"When paramedics arrived, they found members of his family conducting CPR on him, and upon investigating further, they learnt that the boy was rescued from the pool where he was found."

"Paramedics tried to resuscitate him for another hour, but unfortunately he was declared dead on the scene," he said.

The Linden police attended to the incident and would be conducting an investigation.

Two other kids drowned in Gauteng over the weekend.
