Social media laughs at Oscar drama
Social media never disappoints and when veteran actor, Warren Beatty announced La La Land as the wrong winner for the Best Picture Oscar. Memes started circulating online almost immediately.
Beatty and Faye Dunnaway hit the stage of the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to announce the Oscar for Best Picture, but the two were handed the wrong envelope.
The envelope contained the Best Actress winner, Emma Stone for La La Land and in the video you can clearly see the distress on Beatty's face as the realises that it is the wrong envelope.

After some confusion he hands the envelope to Dunnaway who announces the winner, where after host, Jimmy Kimmel steps in and tries to save the situation.
Social media users compared the shock moment to that of Steve Harvey who announced the wrong winner of Miss Univers a few years ago.
