Two sisters have died after drowning at Sezela dam on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal.

The two girls were part of a group of children who had gone swimming in the dam on Sunday.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Thembekile Mbele says the girls struggled to save themselves from drowning.
“A group of kids were swimming in that dam, and two girls drowned, Nosipho Mphuma, 12 years, and a 15-year-old Thandekile Mphuma got into difficulty when they were helping each other crossing the river.
“The divers found the bodies and the children were already dead.”
