[WATCH] Bus fire brings N1 to a halt, fears of an explosion
"The bus is said to have been from Cape Town on its way to Zimbabwe", said the JMPD's Wayne Minnaar.
Motorists were urged to avoid the N1 highway near William Nicol where a bus was on fire on Wednesday morning.
Wayne Minnaar of the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD), warned that the bus night explode, and that it was best to avoid the area.
"The bus is said to have been from Cape Town on its way to Zimbabwe", said Minnaar.
He said no injuries were reported though and the only passengers' luggage was caught up in the flames.

Minnaar advised motorists to use alternative routes.
"Motorists will have to drive as far as Witkoppen then join Rivonia road to get back on the N1 North," said Minnaar.
"If they are traveling south-bound, traffic is diverted at the Rivonia offramp."
