One person has been killed in a light aircraft crash near the old Nelspruit Airport in Mbombela.
The aircraft crashed on Monday afternoon.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen says the cause of the crash is not yet known.
"Just before 16:00 on Monday, Emer-G-Med paramedics together with multiple emergency service agencies responded to the scene of a light aircraft crash in the vicinity of the old Nelspruit Airport.
"On arrival on scene the aircraft was found in ruins. The pilot and only occupant was declared dead on arrival of paramedics."
The South African Civil Aviation Authority has dispatched a team of investigators to the scene of the crash.
The latest crash comes some two weeks after three people were killed after the plane they were travelling in went down in Nasrec, south of Johannesburg.
