Updated | By Lonwabo Miso
The blast killed Ayman Abu Jebbeh and Abdullah Abu Asr, emergency services spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said.
The shell exploded in the Shejaiya neighbourhood, which lies on the edge of Gaza City and was subjected to some of the heaviest Israeli shelling during the July-August conflict.
Full details of the incident were not immediately available.
The war ended with a truce on August 26. It killed more than 2,140 Palestinians, most of them civilians, and 73 on the Israeli side, mostly soldiers.
It caused a vast amount of destruction to homes and infrastructure, leaving more than 100,000 Palestinians homeless in the long term, according to the UN. -AFP
