Background:

Some 800 quad bike riders will on Thursday be setting off for the ultimate off-road trip: from Carnival City in Johannesburg to Ballito in KwaZulu/Natal and back - not on the road, but next to it all the way. This is not just a joy ride - it's the 11th annual Quads4Quads ride to raise awareness for the QuadPara Association of South Africa and to raise funds to get 30 people in need their own wheelchairs. Actors, Altus Theart and Zetske van Pletzen will be joining the group for the fourth time ... we chat to Altus this morning.

More on the trip

The QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) strives to protect and promote the interests of people with mobility impairments by formulating a national policy and strategy, to develop and ensure the full potential and quality of their lives.

Quads4Quads is an annual fundraiser for The QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA). More than 800 riders come together for this epic adventure - all for a good cause.

This year marks the 11th annual Quads4Quads. This is the biggest off road ride of its kind in the world. You ride all the way from JHB to DBN - off-road the whole way. Approx 250kms of riding per day... and the terrain changes all the time. The trip kicks off from Carnival City in JHB on 2 October 2014, and arrives in Ballito on the 5th of October.

This will be actors, Altus Theart and Zetske van Pletzen’s 4th Quads4Quads and they always try to raise as much funds for QASA as possible. This year, they will be donating more than 30 wheelchairs to QASA.

Altus & Zetske are looking for more ways to create awareness for the cause and to secure as many donations as possible.
