Headless body found in Cape Town
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso
The decapitated body of a four-year-old boy has been found in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Wednesday.
Captain FC van Wyk said the child went for a walk with his uncle in a bushy area on Tuesday, but the man returned alone.
"After a while he came out alone saying that the child was kidnapped by unknown suspects in a blue unknown vehicle."
Residents started searching for the boy but noticed blood on the uncle's trousers. When he was questioned about this, he ran away.
Police caught the man and questioned him. He led them to a shallow grave where the child's decapitated body was buried. The child's head was found in bushes some 50m away.
The 21-year-old man was arrested and was expected to appear in court soon on a murder charge.
