Mac Maharaj in hospital
The Presidency has confirmed that former spokesperson and advisor to President Jacob Zuma Mac Maharaj is not well.
Maharaj was admitted to a hospital in Durban on May 21 where he underwent surgery for lung cancer.
Presidency Spokesperson Harold Maloka says the operation was successful but complications arose in post operation conditions.
“A team of highly competent doctors and staff are focusing on stabilising his condition,” he says.
Maloka says the presidency wishes Maharaj a speedy recovery and has thanked the media and public for their support.
