GAUTENG COP KILLED - A huge manhunt is underway in the Jeppes Hostels for the suspects linked to this morning's shooting that claimed the life of a third police officer in Gauteng this week. 


The officer and his colleague stopped a suspicious Kombi, when a shootout ensued. 


The officer died later in hospital. Major Mack Mngomezulu says some of the five suspects arrested, were found with bullet wounds...


 


US TOURIST KILLED IN CAPE TOWN - A suspect is expected to appear in court in connection with the murder of an American tourist at a luxurious hotel in the Mother City. 


Police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana says the body of the 39-year old woman was found in her hotel room, but police are keeping mum on the exact cause of her death...


 


RAMEEZ PATEL ARRESTED AGAIN - Dramatic new developments in the case against Limpopo murder accused Rameez Patel. He has been arrested in connection with a second murder. 


Until this morning, Patel's been out on bail in a case where he is accused of murdering his wife Fatima in April. However, he is now back behind bars on a charge that he killed a man on his premises in 2013. 


The Police's Ronél Otto has confirmed that Patel was arrested at his work place...


 


TELKOM SEVERANCE PACKAGES - Telkom says not all the workers who took voluntary severance packages and early retirement packages will leave the organisation today. 


However, spokesperson Jacqui O'Sullivan says most of the 2 393 workers will leave today, while the balance of the packages will be paid out later this year...


 


MH370 WRECKAGE - Officials believe they might be another step closer to solving one of the world's biggest aviation mysteries. It's been confirmed that the wing found on the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion did indeed come from a Boeing 777, the same as the Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 that disappeared in March last year. 


The Malaysian Transport Department says a part number found on the wing was the clue. Meanwhile, more objects have washed ashore, including cleaning materials from Indonesia and a water bottle from China.
