Rosie Motene takes a stand against women & child abuse with MBD

Actress, producer, presenter and activist Rosie Motene joined MBD to talk about the abuse of women & children in SA, and how we can all make a stand against it by joining Sisters With Blisters on 22 November.

Rosie Motene is a South African actress and television presenter best known for her role as journalist Tsego Motene on the SABC1 soapie Generations, from 2000-2004. She is also known for hosting the M-Net magazine show Studio 53.

Rosie attended drama school at Wits University in Johannesburg. Her acting career began while she was still at drama school, where she was cast for a number of professional productions. However, Rosie is widely known for her role in the Soap Opera Generations. After her exit from Generations, she was cast in the international film Hotel Rwanda.

 

Rose is a voice of strength and a beacon of hope in the world of darkness that many South African women and children endure every day, and strives for gender equality for all.

 

 

 

Over the last few years Jacaranda FM listeners have come to know ‘Sister with Blisters’ as a formidable force in making a change towards women and child abuse. But this is no ordinary walk. One has to walk in the shoes of a person who has been abused to understand the pain endured.

Distance:         5km walk – open to Walkers with and without dogs

Venue:             Montecasino, Fourways

Start time:       07:30 – Walkers without dogs

            07:45 – Walkers with dogs (follow shortly after the Walkers without dogs)

Entries open:   Monday, 6 October

 

Entry Fees:     

  • R100 per adult

  • R30 for kids U/16

  • R30 for pensioners over 60

  • Free entry for dogs & babies under the age of 1 year
