SA's 'Supapiet' inspires the uninspired

Pieter Du Preez is a 34 year old Actuarial Analyst at Deloitte in Johannesburg. He is also the only quadriplegic in history to complete the gruelling Ironman triathlon.
Pieter, a C6 quadriplegic (meaning that he only has his head, shoulder, limited arm function and no hand or finger movement) completed the full 226kms in 13 hours and 24 minutes. Out of the 1,500 athletes who competed, Du Preez came 1,048th and did so only 6 weeks after breaking his forearm in 3 pieces on the 8th of December in Busselton, West Australia.
He joins The Complimentary Breakfast in studio to not only share his remarkable story of over coming the impossible, but to tell the team about being honoured with the sporting greats as an inductee into the South African Sport Hall of Fame in 2016.
Du Preez will also be attending this prestige event at Sun City in July as the South African Sport Hall of Fame officially inducts Joost van der Westhuizen into the Sport Hall of Fame on 12 July 2015.
