Two people were arrested on Saturday in Gravelotte after farm workers noticed strange car tracks in the area, Colonel Ronel Otto said.

With the assistance of another farmer's helicopter, the suspects were spotted attempting to flee.

Two cellphones and poison were confiscated.

"The search for the third suspect as well firearms and other instruments used for rhino poaching, is continuing," Otto said.

They would appear in the Phalaborwa Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on charges of trespassing as well as conspiracy to commit rhino poaching.

On Sunday, four men were arrested on a game farm in Cumberland.

Police recovered a hunting rifle, live ammunition, knives, a panga as well as the vehicle they were using for their get-away.

They would appear in the Thabazimbi Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on charges of conspiracy to commit rhino poaching, trespassing as well as the possession of an unlicensed fire-arm and ammunition, Otto said.
