The pair and another man were suspected to have robbed a shop last Saturday, said Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya.

"They were armed with a knife, panga and a firearm," said Sibiya.

"The suspects suddenly attacked the complainant with a firearm butt and a knife to the head."

They robbed him of cartons of cigarettes worth R800, an undisclosed amount of cash and two cellphones. They fled the scene on foot.

"The complainant identified one of the suspects during the robbery," said Sibiya.

Community members assisted police in tracing them.

"The third suspect is still in hiding," said Sibiya.

The two were scheduled to appear in the Kagiso Magistrate's Court on Monday when they would face charges of business robbery.
