According to Jacaranda FM News, EFF members took to the streets over the release of Chris Hani's killer, Janusz Walus. Members were making their way to the office of the Chief Justice.

Fihla told Breakfast with Martin Bester that the protest was not applied for and it was, in fact, an illegal strike.

According to Fihla, "no property damage or violence was reported from yesterday's protest".
