Alison Botha: Surviving the brutality of GBV to rise in power
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
In this episode of Good Morning Angels: The Legacy, Alison Botha and Tania Koen once again form a formidable team, telling the story of a fighter and how Angels supported her along the way.
For the past 30 years in South Africa, the name Alison Botha has been a symbol of superhuman courage and determination, the anti-victim, the one who defied death, the one who survived one of the cruellest physical attacks without choosing to live in hate or revenge.
She was one of the first women in South Africa to speak openly about rape and the violence she endured.
Alison would be the first to say that she did not stand alone.
Tania Koen, her attorney and friend, has fought for Alison's cause with her every step of the way.
Tristan Smit: Turning 17 after doctors said he would die at 2
When Alison suffered a brain aneurysm in 2024, not long after her attackers were freed on parole, Tania did everything in her power to help Alison regain her health and her voice.
Alison does not have medical aid, and her ability to work and live independently was abruptly taken from her.
Tania refused to let this powerful voice for women go silent.
In this episode of Good Morning Angels: The Legacy, Alison and Tania once again form a formidable team, telling the story of a fighter and how Angels supported her along the way.
