Bennie Erasmus: A rugby star who rolls on his own terms
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
In this episode of Good Morning Angels: The Legacy, Bennie reflects on the "Angels" who helped him along the way, enabling him to conquer the world. We also hear from some of his teammates, who look up to him as both a leader and a friend.
Bennie Erasmus says wheelchair rugby saved his life.
He was introduced to the sport in 2009 after recovering from a car crash that left him paralysed at the age of 19.
Through wheelchair rugby, Bennie found purpose and discovered a whole new world, one where athletes with different abilities play hard and work together toward a single goal: to beat their opponents.
