Kevin Jansen van Vuuren: Claiming back his life after a devastating car crash

In this episode of Good Morning Angels: The Legacy, Aurelia Jansen van Vuuren recalls some of the highs and lows of her son's recovery journey and the many Angels they've encountered along the way. She also shares why Kevin is, in her eyes, the biggest Angel of them all.
2023 was the most significant year in the young lives of Kevin Jansen van Vuuren and his twin brother.
Kevin, a well-loved matriculant at Hoërskool Rustenburg, was known for his excellent academic results, outstanding rugby achievements, and peak physical health.

He was also his mom, Aurelia's "quiet" son among her four boys.
One night in May 2023, everything changed in seconds for Kevin and his family.
He survived a devastating car crash that claimed the life of the driver, while a third boy sustained only minor injuries. Kevin, however, suffered massive brain trauma that left him in a coma for the rest of the year.
His road to recovery has been long and gruelling, but Kevin has shown immense grit and determination, surpassing all expectations.

His journey is far from over, yet his focus remains clear — he wants to walk, talk, finish matric, and work alongside his twin brother and grandfather.
