Nine years of healing: Operation Healing Hands transforms over 2,000 lives
In this episode of Good Morning Angels: The Legacy, the very first Operation Healing Hands patient, Miriam Ramasimong, shares how surgery changed her life.
In July 2016, orthopaedic surgeon Dr Helené Basson’s vision came to life: to provide life-changing private hospital surgeries to state patients, who were stuck on endless waiting lists.

She called it Operation Healing Hands – and launched this extremely needed, but admittedly ambitious, community project.
They assisted 14 patients in need, enabling them to resume a normal life, free from pain.

Dr Helené is driven by patients, passion and purpose – to use her skills and network for the good of all: not only those who can afford medical aid.
Nine years later, Operation Healing Hands has performed 1,409 surgeries and assisted 2,244 patients.
