Since 2005, Good Morning Angels has strived to change the lives of people in need, and 20 years later, in 2025, it was no different.

Each Good Morning Angels story was special and close to our hearts, and throughout the year, there were many moments that left Jacaranda FM and our listeners in tears.

This year, Good Morning Angels celebrated 20 years of changing lives for good and also managed to raise more than R20 million to assist those in need.

Here's a look back at some of the unforgettable Good Morning Angels stories from 2025:

Helping a mom care for her disabled son after her husband's death

Alongside caring for her 14-year-old special-needs son, Landi Mostert was also grieving the loss of her husband. During 2025, she received much-needed support from Good Morning Angels.

One moment that truly stopped us in our tracks was when Landi revealed that the person who had written to Good Morning Angels on her behalf, Basjan Venter, was the same person involved in the accident with her husband three years earlier, the accident in which her husband lost his life.

Help for a young boy who lost his arm in a crocodile attack

Seven-year-old Johandré Blom survived a devastating crocodile attack and needed help to heal and rebuild his life. Thanks to additional donors who stepped forward on Wednesday morning, Good Morning Angels raised R310,000 for young Johandré in just one hour.

That same morning, he woke up from his coma, and today he is once again a thriving young boy.

Good Morning Angels raises R2.7 million to help child burn victims

Youth Day was marked with a special Good Morning Angels broadcast from Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in aid of the Avela Foundation.

By the end of Breakfast with Martin Bester at 09:00, a total of R2.52 million had been raised, just R180,000 short of a second laser machine. Two more donations came in later that day, bringing the final total to R2.7 million. This made it possible to fund two brand-new laser machines for the Avela Foundation.
