The Good Morning Angels Golf Day and 20-Year Celebration, held on Friday, 19 September 2024, at Irene Country Club, was an incredible success.

Thanks to the help, contributions, effort, creativity, and generosity of our participants and sponsors, we raised an amazing R5.8 million, nearly R1 million more than last year.

More than 80 companies contributed to the day, with exciting additions such as bowls and the sponsor village.

We cannot thank them enough.

Spur provided the burger lunch, while the dinner and prize-giving on the First Fairway added that special finishing touch.

JVR Events set up a beautiful stage, and SAB added flair to make the celebration a massive success.

The evening was made even more memorable with performances by the inspiring JP Dix, the legendary Claire Johnstone, and the incredibly generous Nadine, who even stepped off the stage to kick off the party on the makeshift dance floor.

Auction Success

The auction raised an impressive R1,565,000 for the Good Morning Angels Fund.

Special thanks go to our generous prize sponsors, guest auctioneers Chris Morris and Adam Heys, and our exceptionally generous buyers:

  • Raymond Marais (Container King): R550,000 for a Jacaranda FM advertising campaign.
  • Ross Volk (MSC Cruises): R500,000 for a second campaign, plus the Titans Suite for R55,000.
  • Raul Lima (AutoMagic Centurion): R250,000 for the TAG Heuer watch and Max Verstappen racing suit.

We also raised R180,000 through the night golf competition, thanks to SPAR’s amazing Smeg prize package, won by Neil Olivier from Komatsu.

Hole Sponsor Competition

We hosted a special competition for our incredible hole sponsors, who went above and beyond to make the day fun, exciting, and impactful.

Judges visited all the holes, bowls fields, games, and sponsor village activations to select winners of Jacaranda FM advertising airtime.

Sponsor Village Winner: Total Risk Advisory – R50,000 airtime. They supplied club-cleaning brushes for golfer goody bags, towels for bowls goody bags, and donated R10,000 to Good Morning Angels.

3rd Place (Hole 10 – Sabat Batteries): R50,000 airtime. This activation featured a super racing car, cooling towels, and longest-drive pro David Melman, raising an additional R15,200 for Good Morning Angels.

2nd Place (Hole 9 – Promac Paints): R75,000 airtime. Promac Paints brought along a rubber duck, a fabulous DJ, and their popular "drive" cannon, raising an extra R15,000.

1st Place (Hole 11 – King Price): R150,000 airtime. They delivered the full "Royal Treatment" with a red carpet, thrones, and rugby/basketball games.

Overall, the 2025 Good Morning Angels Golf Day was not only a joyful celebration but also a life-changing success, thanks to the collective efforts of our sponsors, participants, and supporters.
