Project Flood Relief: Help those affected by severe floods in Limpopo and Mpumalanga
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Please drop off bottled water, non-perishable food, toiletries, baby nappies and formula milk by Sunday, 25 January 2026 at our designated drop-off zones.
Jacaranda FM's Breakfast with Martin Bester and Good Morning Angels want to bring much-needed supplies and hope to flood-ravaged communities in Limpopo and Mpumalanga through Project Flood Relief.
A flood disaster. That's what torrential rains have caused in parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga since last week, with at least 37 deaths reported across the two provinces.
The provinces have already been declared disaster areas by the government.
Communities have been isolated due to overflowing rivers, collapsing bridges, flooding, and the destruction of roads and other infrastructure.
This has led to the displacement of thousands of people, with water and electricity services collapsing in towns like Phalaborwa and several rural communities.
Many have lost their homes and belongings, with damage to private and state infrastructure estimated in the billions.
The immediate need in many communities, according to disaster relief and aid organisation Gift of the Givers, remains the basics: bottled water, food, baby formula, nappies and toiletries.
And that's where we need your help.
Help us get emergency relief supplies to people who have escaped the floodwaters with only their lives, as well as those trapped in towns without water and basic services.
How you can help
We are calling on listeners, corporates and organisations to donate these essentials at designated drop-off points.
These supplies will be collected by Gift of the Givers and distributed to those who need them most.
Donations towards the relief efforts can be made via the Donate button on jacarandafm.com.
All funds donated between 21 January and 25 January 2026 will go towards the Gift of the Givers' disaster relief efforts in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
What to Donate
