Helping a passionate man on his journey to qualify as a teacher
MANCOSA has assisted Dewald Geldenhuys by covering the full tuition fees for the third year of his Bachelor of Education studies in 2027.
Dewald Geldenhuys works as the Head of Discipline at Hoërskool Hans Moore in Benoni.
He is currently in his second year of studying towards a Bachelor of Education degree through MANCOSA. His dream is to become a qualified teacher.
“Education is not just my profession; it is my calling. My passion is to help shape young people into responsible, respectful and successful adults, and I strive to make a meaningful impact at my school and in the wider community every day,” says Dewald.
Dewald’s journey as a student has not been without challenges, especially when it comes to finances. He studies through MANCOSA, which enables him to work while completing his degree and supporting himself. However, this leaves him without the additional funds needed to cover his tuition fees.
His parents were able to assist him during his first year, while friends kindly sponsored part of his second year. However, he did not have a plan to finance the R50 000 needed for his third year.
That is why Dewald reached out to Good Morning Angels.
“Whether or not my application is successful, I deeply appreciate the hope that Good Morning Angels continues to bring to so many families,” Dewald concludes.

Dear Good Morning Angels Team,
My name is Dewald Geldenhuys, and I would like to sincerely ask you to consider providing financial assistance towards the third year of my Bachelor of Education degree at MANCOSA in 2027.
Over the past few years, I have applied to the Good Morning Angels Fund, but unfortunately, I was not successful. Even so, I have never lost hope because I have seen the incredible difference your team has made in the lives of ordinary South Africans who simply needed someone to believe in them.
I am currently the Head of Discipline at Hoërskool Hans Moore in Benoni, where I have the privilege of serving hundreds of learners every day.
Education is not just my profession; it is my calling. My passion is to help shape young people into responsible, respectful and successful adults, and I strive to make a meaningful impact at my school and in the wider community every day.
I have attached the following documents for your consideration:
- A recent photograph of myself
- My latest academic results
- Proof of my registration at MANCOSA
Academically, I have worked extremely hard and remain committed to completing my degree successfully. I believe that investing in my education is an investment that will continue to benefit countless young people throughout my teaching career.
I have also been incredibly blessed by the generosity of others. Last year, some wonderful friends in the United States assisted by sponsoring part of my studies, while my parents generously helped to fund my first year. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, my parents are no longer in a position to assist me with my tuition fees for 2027.
I am therefore humbly requesting assistance of R49 550 towards my third-year tuition fees. This support would allow me to continue my studies without the burden of financial uncertainty. It would also bring me one step closer to completing my qualification and continuing to serve South African learners with excellence.
