Mother of two assisted after escaping an abusive relationship
The story of "Rose": After escaping an abusive relationship, one of her sons was hit by a car, and just a month ago, her other son was shot during a school bullying incident – that’s why Good Morning Angels decided to step in.
Standing strong in a violent world, "Rose", a mother of two, has faced many setbacks.
"Rose" is a mother who took the difficult step, about two years ago, to leave an abusive relationship for her own safety and that of her children. She has a job and is proud to be able to provide for her family, while ensuring they are no longer exposed to an abusive home.
But in reality, life has been a struggle for "Rose" and her family, and the violence followed them. She cannot shield her children from the dangers that exist outside their home.

Earlier this year, her youngest son, who is still in primary school, was involved in a hit-and-run accident. He was badly injured: his pelvis was broken in three places, he suffered a broken leg, internal bleeding, and head trauma. He completed the school year at home and still uses a walking frame.
Then, earlier this month, her eldest son was shot in the arm by another learner, in front of their home and in front of his younger brother.
Due to serious safety concerns, the police advised the family that it was unsafe for them to remain in their home or even in the area.
Rose obtained a protection order, but that is only a piece of paper. Both her family and the close friends who were safeguarding them were advised to relocate immediately, and they did so that very day.

The hospital discharged her son early under these emergency circumstances and allowed until 21 November for the account to be settled. The total hospital bill is R90 000.
They have already secured and paid R77,000, but there remains an outstanding balance of R13,000 that they are urgently trying to cover. That’s why a family friend reached out to Good Morning Angels on behalf of Rose.
