Spreading festive joy to 1200 children from 13 homes and organisations
SPAR Carols by Candlelight 2025 and Jacaranda FM's Good Morning Angels spread festive joy worth close to R1 million to more than 1,000 children from 13 children’s homes and organisations in 24 communities across four provinces!
Imagine being able to give Christmas gifts to over a thousand children – just imagine the smiles and the joy.
That's exactly what every person attending this year's Spar Carols by Candlelight has made possible!
For more than 20 years, our Jacaranda FM listeners have enabled us to spread festive cheer to children who would otherwise not have received anything special for Christmas.
This year, ticket sales for Spar Carols by Candlelight came to a whopping R600 000, which we’ve distributed in the form of Santa Shoe Boxes to:
- 1200 children
- from 13 children’s homes and organisations
- in 24 communities
- across 4 provinces!
The organisations include:
Each child received a personalised gift that was packed especially for them, consisting of a toy or game, age-appropriate stationery and toiletries, something sweet, and an outfit of clothing.
But this year, we are not stopping with the children. This year, we have something special for all the staff who care for these children throughout the year, too.

SPONSORING: Spar will send a special Christmas hamper, valued at R350, to every staff member at all 13 homes and organisations benefiting from this year's Spar/Jacaranda FM Carols by Candlelight gifting project.
That's 192 hampers already on their way to bring festive joy to the staff!
ANGEL 2: The Good Morning Angels Fund NPC
SPONSORING: As part of the 20-year celebration of Good Morning Angels this year, each of the 13 homes and organisations will receive a donation of R20,000 towards necessities and expenses to tide them over into the new year – that's a total of R260,000 to 13 homes and organisations!
