Find out why your child is afraid of sleeping on their own
Establishing this will help you come up with the best solution to address the situation.
Make their room and bed comfortable
Make your child's bedroom feel comfortable and look beautiful. This will help make your child delight in spending time in their room.
Provide a comfort toy or item
If your child is used to cuddling with you at night, a comfort toy might do the trick. Some of the toys might include a teddy bear or a doll. Some parents even take their clothes which have their scent and cover the doll/teddy bear and leave it next to the child. This brings a sense of comfort to the child and can give the impression that you are in the room.
Make light sources accessible
If your child is afraid of the dark, let them sleep with a light on and later go and switch off the light for them. Also assure your child that no harm will happen to them at night because you are just a room away.
Read a bed time story
Reading a bedtime story for your child while in their room has proven to work for some parents. This might also work for your child.
Play comforting music for your child
Many songs can help put babies to sleep, find those that work for you.Listen to Jacaranda FM:
