Search is on for next big rock-band

The Innibos National Arts Festival in Mbombela is looking for the hottest new rock band and launched the Rock Rumoer competition.

Innibos Rock

Are you part of a band that you just know is the coolest with the best songs ever?

Are the only people ever listening to you, your parents because it is in their house you are jamming, and your little sister because you bribed her with cell-data?

Everything could change if you start rocking your way to stage now - your band might even bag R25 000!

Innibos Arts Festival in Nelspruit is hosting a country wide competition for rock bands with the opportunity to be on the MK stage at the 2016-festival, and if you are so lucky and good to end up as one of the two winning bands, to share the main stage with rockers such as Karen Zoid, Kahn Morbee, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Francois van Coke, Black Cat Bones, Dan Patlansky and Albert Frost. Cool.

All bands with three but not more than six members whom are all older than eighteen years could take part in the Innibos RockRumoer competition. (Please don't bother if your band already has a CD contract or the like ... but feel free to listen and vote.) Grab those guitars, because although the arts festival is only end of June 2016, the closing date for entries for the RockRumoer is already February 29th 2016 and no late entries will be accepted.

To enter each band has to supply a video clip and two songs (MP3's) of which the 20 best will be put on the Innibos website. After the public and fans voted for their favourite band, 10 finalists will be announced on June 1st 2016.

Then the rocking fun starts, as all 10 finalist bands will be on the MK stage during the Innibos RockRumoer competition on Wednesday, June 29th 2016.

A panel of judges comprising well known rockers and people from the music industry will select two winning bands that will be in the line-up at the rock concert on the Innibos main stage the next evening. One of the two will be announced as the top band in the battle and the winner of the R25 000 prize money.

The best singer, best guitarist, best drummer and best base guitarist in the Innibos RockRumoer competition will each be awarded R1 000.

Innibos knows bands most of the times pay more to get to a gig than they earn, therefore each of the 10 finalist bands will receive a travel allowance, accommodation in a hostel and meal vouchers.
