Masina names Ekurhuleni Mayoral Committee

Masina says there is continuity and a mixture of new, young blood.

The new mayor delivered his acceptance speech this morning at the Council Chambers in Germiston. 

Masina warned his new MMC's of the mammoth task that lies ahead to ensure proper service delivery to the people of Ekurhuleni.

He emphasised issues such as the building of a new university in the metro, the renaming of streets and the curbing of unemployment.

The mayor confirmed only ANC members will serve on the mayoral team in spite of coalition agreements the party entered into with opposition parties.

"The opposition, in terms of our own coalition agreement, these are all ANC cadres. We agreed that we want to be held accountable, so this is the executive of the mayor. The mayor must still deliver the manifesto of the ANC. The opposition must hold us to account on those things we agree with," he said.
