Petrol price up from Wednesday
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
The petrol price will increase by 45cents a litre as of
Wednesday, the Energy Department confirms.
Diesel will cost 63 cents more a litre.
Energy department spokesperson Robert Maake says the main reason for the increase is the high crude oil prices.

“The crude oil price increased from 46 US dollars per barrel to about 60 US dollars per barrel on average,” he explains.
Maake says this has been offset slightly due to the strengthening of the rand against the US dollar.
