PICS: Whale carcass removed from Bantry Bay

The small southern right whale carcass which washed ashore at the rocks in Bantry Bay, Cape Town, on Sunday morning has been successfully removed, the City of Cape Town said.
“The City of Cape Town wishes to thank the National Sea Rescue Institute of South Africa who has helped to remove the carcass,” the city’s environmental management department said on Sunday evening.
“It is being towed to the Oceana Power Boat Club from where it will be transported by the city’s solid waste management department to its Vissershok landfill site, as per the standard protocol.”
