BTS scores seventh No.1 song with 'Swim'
The South Korean boy group is back on top of the charts after taking a break to complete their military service.
BTS' new comeback song, 'Swim', has debuted at number one on America's main singles chart.
The track knocked country star Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' off the #1 spot on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart.
'Swim' is the lead single from the boy band's first full-length album with all seven members in over three years.
Jin, RM, V, SUGA, J-hope, Jimin, and Jung Kook went on hiatus in 2022 to pursue solo careers.
It also allowed them to complete mandatory military service in South Korea. Suga, Jimin and Jungkook were the last three members to be discharged in June 2025.
Despite having successful solo careers in the past few years, BTS promised fans they would make their long-awaited comeback with a new album and world tour.
"Thank you so much for waiting for us all this time. Now that we've been discharged, I believe it's time for us to keep drawing the picture we've always envisioned. We'll make sure to prepare well and show you an even better version of ourselves," Jung Kook said at the time.
They released their sixth studio album, 'Arirang', on March 20, 2026. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with over 640, 000 album-equivalent sales.
'Swim' is one of 14 songs on their new project. The track's music video, which features 'Riverdale' actress Lili Reinhart, has been viewed over 80 million times on YouTube.
"Swim, swim/Water falling off your skin/Swim, swim/I could spend a lifetime watching you/ Swim, swim/ This is how it all begins/ Swim, swim/ I just wanna dive," they sing.
South African fans are still crossing fingers that the BTS 'Arirang World Tour' will make a stop in Mzansi.
The tour, which kicks off on April 9, has concerts in Australia, America, Mexico, Spain, Belgium, England, Brazil. France, Italy and more.
