Damiano David releases new song ft. Tyla, Nile Rodgers
Damiano David says he was completely "blown away" by Tyla and had to work on a song with her.
Italian singer Damiano David has teamed up with Tyla on a catchy new song called 'Talk To Me'.
The track, which also features a guitar solo by Nile Rodgers, was released on Friday, September 12.
"Fell in love with how nostalgic this record feels, #popyla had to hop on," Tyla wrote on Instagram.
The single is a departure from her amapiano and R&B sound, but fans are loving the genre switch. "Okay, we love a genre queen," one commented.
'Talk To Me' features on the deluxe edition of David's debut solo album, 'Funny Little Fears (Dreams)'.
"I unexpectedly felt a new wave of inspiration as the Funny Little Fears World Tour was approaching, which led me to write Talk to Me," he said in a statement.
"What made this spark even more exciting was knowing that the legendary Nile Rodgers thought the song worthy of adding his solo guitar."
David, who is a member of the rock band Måneskin, says Tyla was the perfect fit for the song.
"I always felt this song should be a duet, and since I’ve recently been listening a lot to 'Water', I was completely blown away and really wanted to have her sing it with me."
This is one of several collaborations the South African singer has been part of in 2025.
Earlier this year, she released a remix of her his single, 'Push 2 Start', featuring Jamaican dancehall star Sean Paul.
She features on Blackpink star Lisa's song, 'When I'm With You', and worked with Nigerian superstar Wizkid on 'Dynamite'.
Tyla is currently working on her second album, which will likely feature more top collaborations.
"I had more time to work on this album than I did the first, so I have a lot of songs. It feels really current — this time, I’m living what I’m singing, and it feels way more personal. Way more like me," she told Variety in an interview.
