Christina Aguilera previews music from 'Christmas in Paris' special
'My Favorite Things' is the first single released from Christina Aguilera's Christmas special, recorded live from the Eiffel Tower.
Christina Aguilera has given fans a glimpse of what they can expect from her upcoming holiday special.
'Christina Aguilera: Christmas in Paris' is a live music special celebrating the 25th anniversary of the singer's 'My Kind of Christmas' album.
It will be released in cinemas in America for a limited period on Sunday, December 14 and 21.
This week, Aguilera has shared her full performance of 'My Favorite Things'. The Rodgers and Hammerstein song was featured in the musical 'The Sound of Music'.
Ariana Grande used an interpolation of the track for her 2019 single, '7 Rings'. Aguilera put her own twist on the classic for her Eiffel Tower performance.
"My Favorite Things is out now! So excited to share this song with you," she captioned a clip from the show. "Cheers to spreading the holiday joy."
Aguilera's team has described the special as "an unforgettable visual spectacular; channelling fantasy, grandeur, and theatrical wonder".
"Against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower – fashioned into a shimmering Christmas tree – Aguilera delivers an immersive performance with the city skyline as both stage and witness," a press release said.
"As twilight deepens, she moves fluidly through holiday classics and career-defining hits, all captured in a sumptuous vintage-lens glow. Between songs, the film drifts into dreamlike Parisian interludes – where Christina contemplates love, motherhood, reinvention, and the artistry that has defined her journey."
The live special, attended by 250 guests, was filmed on a winter garden terrace overlooking the Musée du Quai Branly.
Sam Wrench, the man behind Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert film, directed 'Christmas in Paris'.
Intercut with documentary scenes shot around Paris, the film will also contain moments from inside the legendary Crazy Horse, where Aguilera unleashes her boldest anthems in a cabaret sequence steeped in the decadence and glamour of Paris nightlife."
