Cricket star Wayne Parnell and Aisha Baker are expecting a baby
The Parnell family is expanding. The couple is preparing for their "third edition".
South African cricketer Wayne Parnell and his wife, influencer and businesswoman Aisha Baker Parnell, have announced that they are expecting their third child.
Aisha shared a cute pregnancy announcement video on her Instagram page that showed her posing for a magazine cover that read "third edition".
The magazine featured several photographs of Aisha and Wayne, taken by photographer Jarryd Kleinhans.
The post was flooded with sweet messages from friends, family and followers.
"Stunning, congratulations, you guys!" singer Paxton Fielies wrote. "What an announcement! Hot Mom of 3. I can’t wait," Aisha's sister Bilqees Baker Samodien.
Wayne and Aisha met 12 years ago when mutual friend, media personality Zuraida Jardine, set them up on a blind date.
"We met in our early 20s when Zuraida set us up on a WhatsApp group chat and then left the chat after introducing us! We chatted a bit, and then Wayne flew to Cape Town from Port Elizabeth to meet me," Aisha said in an interview.
They tied the knot in 2016 and welcomed their first child, Khalid, in 2018. Their daughter, Salma, joined the family in 2021.
"What started as a blind date turned into a lifetime. 12 years [ago] by so fast, next year we will be married for 10!" Aisha wrote on Instagram.
Wayne has previously described his wife as the glue that holds their family together. "We appreciate and love you," he wrote on Mother's Day.
Earlier this year, Aisha called motherhood her greatest joy.
"It’s the one role I feel completely confident in — I know I’m a brilliant mom to my kids. Deep appreciation to my own mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law for passing down the cheat codes to this beautiful, wild, sacred job."
