No album release day is complete without a new song and music video, and it doesn't get better than Doja Cat's 'Gorgeous'.

The singer's fifth studio album, 'Vie', which means "life" in French, premiered on streaming platforms on Friday, September 26.

'Gorgeous' is the second single from the 15-track album.

"If they wasn't grillin' before/ They gon' be really mad when we hit the floor/It's a crime to be gorgeous/ Between you and a million phones/ They takin' pictures like we hittin' a pose," she sings.

"It's alright to be honest/Even when we sit in the dark/ I feel the prettiest that you ever saw."

The track's music video features several top models, including Irina Shayk and Ugbad. In the Bardia Zeinali-directed visuals, Doja Cat models 'Gorgeous' makeup and hair products.

"It’s giving 80s makeup commercial vibes," one Instagram user noted.

Another user added, "This album is incredible. The 80s vibes are ON POINT. Bravo @dojacat."

The '80s beauty ad vibe is in keeping with the theme Doja Cat set with her first single, 'Jealous Type' - which is currently at #13 on the Top 40 with Danny Painter.

However, fans are confused about the overall theme of 'Vie'.

In a rare move, Doja Cat shared the album's cover art a few days before its debut. It shows her hanging from a yellow parachute stuck in a tree.

"Falling in love is putting trust in the hands of yourself and others. The yellow parachute represents curiosity, happiness, and adventure. Flying you towards new experiences and scenes, taking a leap of faith, and holding no bounds," she said.

"The tree represents life and wisdom. Giving you a sense of safety within its branches, but the pain from the fall teaches you that those scratches can be healed. You don’t have to hit the ground. Love grows upward but more importantly down. It’s the roots that keep you steady."

The cover threw fans off as it is in stark contrast to the '80s vibes she has been pushing over the past few months.

"WTF is the theme of this album?" one fan asked on Instagram.

An X user wrote: "This cover makes no sense with the aesthetic she’s been going with for the era."

Doja Cat clapped back, insisting it is the "perfect" cover.

"You can’t make me feel bad for a cover that has visceral meaning. The greatest armour is love and integrity. I forgive your harsh criticism, but for me I won yet again for following my heart. If I was you I wouldn’t."

Doja Cat's new album features just one guest artist, SZA, who appears on 'Take Me Dancing'.
