Elon Musk claps back at Billie Eilish’s “coward” remarks

Singer Billie Eilish called the world's richest man "pathetic" for not doing enough to end world hunger.

Billionaire Elon Musk has reacted to Billie Eilish's harsh comments about him.

The 'What Was I Made For' hitmaker recently slammed the SpaceX founder for not using his wealth to help curb some of the world's biggest issues.

The 'drama' started when Eilish reposted an Instagram post shared by My Voice, My Choice on her Stories.

The carousel featured several graphics, including a picture of the South African-born businessman with the text: "Elon Musk became the world's first trillionaire, here's what he could do with it."

It suggested that Musk spend $40 billion every year to end world hunger by 2030, $10 billion annually to cure diseases and $1-2 billion to save endangered animal species.

According to a recent report in TIME magazine, Musk, who is currently worth around $473 billion, is on track to become a trillionaire in the next decade.

Eilish followed up the repost with some strong words for the Tesla boss: “F***ing pathetic p***y b***h coward.”

Musk came across screenshots of her post on his X platform and had a few choice words of his own. “She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed”.

Social media users were less than impressed with his response, with some accusing him of avoiding the issue at end.

“What part of her statement was wrong? You don’t need a trillion dollars. Our world could easily have less famine and conflict if you put your money where your mouth is,” one X user said.

A second user wrote: “Every time someone asks him to help the world, he responds like a Reddit comment.”

Some, however, came to Musk’s defence, pointing out that he once asked the UN to prove how $6 billion (which was 2% of his wealth at the time) would solve world hunger

“Elon's right. Billie is really stupid for this one. No billionaire is worth that much in liquid cash. Their net worth is calculated based of [sic] their assets like shares in a company or the stuff that they own. Elon particularly has his wealth only in his shares, so he technically can't give anything away, because he has no 'real' money to give away.”

Billie Eilish calls out the rich

This isn’t the first time the Grammy Award winner has called out billionaires, and to their face nogal

Last month, WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards presented her with the Music Innovator Award.

She used her acceptance speech to urge the billionaires in the room, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, to increase their charitable contributions.

“We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country,” she said.

“I’d say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things, maybe give it to some people that need it.”

The singer has donated millions of dollars of her own money to good causes.

“Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”
