Gert-Johan Coetzee ventures into the perfume business
Gert-Johan Coetzee is expanding his fashion empire into the fragrance world, with the designer unveiling his new perfume collection.
Gert-Johan Coetzee, who is known for designing stunning clothes that have made him an international name in the fashion industry, has now ventured into the world of fragrance.
The renowned designer took to social media this week to unveil his latest creation: a fragrance line designed to elevate how you smell and complement your style.
Coetzee shared images of the new perfume collection with his followers, receiving an outpouring of love and excitement from fans who are already eager to get their hands on the new scents.
The designer’s move into the fragrance industry follows a growing trend among celebrities who have expanded their brands into perfumes and fragrances. In South Africa, celebrities including Boity Thulo, Cassper Nyovest and Bonang Matheba have also ventured into the business.
Coetzee revealed that his signature perfumes are crafted in Grasse, France, widely regarded as the world’s perfume capital and a historic centre of fragrance production.
The Gert fragrance collection is available at Foschini and Beauty Box stores nationwide and features six eau de parfum scents.
He's not only a successful businessman and fashion designer but is also passionate about uplifting others and making a difference through education. Recognising the important role education plays in empowering young people and opening doors to new opportunities, Coetzee recently announced that he will be offering a bursary to an aspiring fashion designer.
Taking to social media to share the news, the designer called on prospective students to apply for the opportunity, which will see the successful candidate receive full tuition for a three-year fashion design programme at the North West School of Design.
The initiative is being offered in partnership with the North West School of Design and Bernina RSA, giving one aspiring designer the opportunity to receive industry-focused training and take an important step towards building a career in fashion.
