Halle Berry's ex-husband accuses her of physically abusing their son

Award-winning actress Halle Berry is making headlines after her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, reportedly accused her of physically, verbally and emotionally abusing their 12-year-old son, Maceo.
Oscar Award-winning actress Halle Berry's ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, reportedly accused her of physically abusing their 12-year-old son, Maceo Robert Martinez.
According to People Magazine, Martinez applied for a restraining order against Berry, claiming that she allegedly grabbed their son by the neck and choked him. The incident reportedly happened while Berry was shouting at Maceo, asking, "Who's dominant now?"
Martinez claims this was not an isolated incident, alleging that the Catwoman actress subjected their son to physical, verbal and emotional abuse.
People Magazine writes: "On Thursday, October 1, a Los Angeles County judge granted Martinez’s request for a temporary restraining order that covered both himself and Maceo, according to court records viewed by PEOPLE."
Following the court application, Berry's contact with her son has reportedly been temporarily restricted pending a hearing on 16 October.
However, according to the publication, Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, has denied the allegations, saying that Martinez's claims are "entirely meritless and deliberately misleading."
"To say this filing is entirely meritless and deliberately misleading would be an understatement. Fortunately, Halle is used to this kind of outrageous conduct from Mr Martinez and, while she is deeply saddened, she will not allow it to deter her from fighting for Maceo’s best interests and providing him with the love and support he needs," Beck told People.
Berry and Martinez have been involved in a custody dispute over their son following their divorce in 2016. The former couple married in France in 2013 and welcomed their son in October 2013.
