Harry Styles drops music video for song about friends marrying

All of Harry Styles' friends are getting married to American girls, while he is having all the fun on the set of his new music video.
Harry Styles has released a new music video for 'American Girls,' the second single from his new album.
'Kiss All The Time. Dance, Occasionally', the English singer's fourth studio album, debuted on Friday, March 6. The visuals for 'American Girls' were released shortly after.
Styles plays an actor filming various action shots against a green screen in the James Mackel-directed music video, which also features stunt doubles.
Some fans say the video gives them nostalgia for One Direction (1D). Styles was a member of the British boy band alongside Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and the late Liam Payne.
"I think it's a nod to the fame that came with actual American girls during the 1D fan craze, like it's quite on the nose," one YouTuber wrote.

During a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Styles spoke about the meaning behind some of the songs on his new album. He sings in the single's lyrics:
"I've known you for ages," it's all that I've heard
My friends are in love with American girls
I've seen it in stages all over the world
My friends are in love with American girls
"I've known you for ages," it's all that I've heard
My friends are in love with American girls.
His friends are the inspiration behind the track. "It’s actually quite a lonely song in a lot of ways. I watched my three closest friends get married," he told Lowe.
"Seeing them trust in something and risk something to find something truly fulfilling, in a way that isn’t as shiny and, on paper, as exciting, You know, watching them get married. I was like, ‘I’m single, so I’m having all the fun.’
"And ‘American Girls’ is actually about watching them get married and like, you know, there just is a magic when you find the right person that you want to be with."
The 32-year-old says watching his friends find their other half forced him to have a "real honest" conversation with himself about what he wants his life to look like in five years.
“I don’t want to be the guy who’s on his own but was like, ‘Oh, I really did it.’ I want to be fulfilled, and I want to be in great relationships with people. I want to have great friendships with people. I want a family. I want these things. It just allowed me to go like, ‘Okay, what do I have to do to create space to allow these things to happen?’ I can’t just expect them to just happen to me.”
Styles has previously been romantically linked to stars such as Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, and Olivia Wilde.
He is currently dating actress Zoë Kravitz. She is the daughter of singer Lenny Kravitz and 'The Cosby Show' star, Lisa Bonet.
