Jesse Clegg has become the latest South African artist to showcase the massive talent that exists in our country.

The singer performed the national anthem in Baltimore in the US, where the Springboks faced the All Blacks on 12 September.

In a recent social media post, Clegg said the moment was truly an honour for him.

"What an incredible honour to sing the South African national anthem ahead of the Springboks vs All Blacks in Baltimore. Standing in that stadium and singing for my country, the team and thousands of South Africans was an experience I'll never forget. Thank you for having me, and congratulations to the Boks on an incredible win!" he wrote.

The best rendition

Scores of South Africans have praised the singer for his rendition of 'Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika' with some even saying that his powerful performance brought them to tears.

Well done, Jesse, you killed it .

Jesse absolutely nobody could have done it better. Your Dad was undoubtedly beaming with pride over the rainbow. So proud =.

You did a superior job - your dad would have been proud

Fabulous rendition, what an occasion

You made me cry again. So special, Jesse.

This is believed to be Clegg's first time performing the national anthem at an international Springbok rugby match.

Clegg performed with so much passion that he appeared to move not only the audience, but also some of the Springbok players, who could be seen joining in as he sang the national anthem.

SuperSport Rugby also shared a video of the singer’s performance, with Clegg once again describing the moment as a great honour.

Clegg continues to enjoy musical success while following in the footsteps of his late father, legendary musician Johnny Clegg.

Johnny Clegg was known for celebrating African cultures and bringing people together through music, making Heritage Month a fitting time to celebrate his son's special moment.

South Africa is home to a rich variety of languages and cultures, something that is beautifully reflected in the national anthem, which features several of the country’s official languages.
