Katy Perry announces new song 'Bandaids'
Updated | By Entertainment Reporter
'Firework' singer Katy Perry's new song is reportedly about her breakup with Orlando Bloom.
Katy Perry is ready for the next era in her career.
One year after releasing her seventh studio album, '143', Perry has announced new music. Her single, 'Bandaids', is set to debut this week.
Perry shared the single's cover art and release date on social media. "Bandaids. November 6," she wrote.
The 41-year-old did not share the inspiration for the song, but judging by the title, the track has a deeply personal meaning.
Perry and her longtime partner, fiancé Orlando Bloom, called it quits this year. The former couple have a daughter, Daisy, together.
Her fans are convinced the single is about her breakup with Bloom. The 'Firework' singer has moved on with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Perry reportedly shared a snippet of her new song during a performance in Paris this week.
"Let me down/Know it's just a fairytale/ Save myself just to go back to the broken/ Don't let me down/ Go, just send flowers now," she sings, according to Genius.
She will perform the song live for the first time during her 'Lifetimes Tour' in Lyon, France, on Friday.

Perry is weeks away from completing her 'Lifetimes Tour'. 'Bandaids' will reportedly usher her into the next phase of her music journey.
Perry announced her new song two months after celebrating the one-year anniversary of her '143' album.
"1 year ago, 143 came out and I took the weekend to reflect. Records are snapshots of an artist trying to tell their story of where they are now or have been, and hope someone will hear themselves in some of the messages," she wrote.
"143 to me was literally me saying I love you to my fans. Looking back now, I realise it has been all about reconnecting to my fans through these songs and through this wonderful tour that has given me the opportunity to see so many of you again and for the first time."
The album produced three singles: 'Woman's World', 'Lifetimes' and 'I'm His. He's Mine'.
"We cats (and rats) have been through a rollercoaster, but wherever the ride took us, we have been together. I am so proud of the community we are and growing to become," Perry continued.
The 41-year-old is now in a difference stage of her life, and ready for what comes next.
"Lately, I have been seeing 341, which has me thinking now, after giving so much… do I love myself, finally? Well, I get the opportunity to answer that question anew every day. Today’s answer is yes. I am proud of where and how I have landed in this moment."Proud of myself, proud of my fans and proud that I keep on swinging. Wrapping up the South American leg once again reminded me of what’s real. There’s no coincidence I would be doing that exactly one year from when I put out the album."
