Katy Perry moves on with Canadian politician Justin Trudeau
"Is this even TRU DEAU?" Social media users react to Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's public display of affection.
Months after sparking dating rumours, Katy Perry and Canada's former prime minister Justin Trudeau have been spotted locking lips on a yacht.
The pair, who have not officially spoken about their romance, were snapped canoodling off the coast of Santa Barbara in California.
They hug and kiss, oblivious to the photographer's prying eye. The pictures, which were reported to have been taken at the end of September, were first shared on the Daily Mail.
One image shows Trudeau placing his hand on Perry's derrière. A passenger on a whale-watching boat allegedly took the pictures.
“I didn’t realise who [Perry] was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy’s arm and I immediately realised it was Justin Trudeau."

In July, the lovebirds were first spotted having dinner at a posh restaurant in Montreal.
The meeting occurred six months after Trudeau resigned as PM and one month after People magazine confirmed that Perry and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, called it quits.
Trudeau and his ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, broke up in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage.
It's unclear how their paths crossed, but their mutual friends include Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
Perry and the Sussexes are Montecito neighbours. The singer performed at the Invictus Games Opening Ceremony in Vancouver earlier this year.
Harry founded the games in 2014. The Duchess of Sussex has also known Trudeau for years.
According to People, a source claims Perry and Trudeau have a lot in common.
"They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes,” the mole said in August.
“She is travelling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer [the] prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common.”
The unlikely couple reportedly bonded over their love for music. Social media users reacted to news of their romance with humour and surprise.
"They are dating? Is this even TRU DEAU? I came to the comments JUSTIN time!" an Instagram user said.
"If she's happy with him, then I'm happy for her," an X user wrote.
A second X user said, "Go, Katy. He’s a cutie!"
