Katy Perry slams Ruby Rose's "dangerous, reckless lies"
Ruby Rose has made shocking allegations about a sexual assault that allegedly took place 20 years ago.
Katy Perry's team has come to her defence after Australian actress and model Ruby Rose accused her of sexual assault.
Rose made the claims on Threads after Complex magazine shared a post about Perry's appearance at Coachella 2026.
Perry and her partner, former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, attended the music festival this past weekend. She was pictured at Justin Bieber's set.
During his performance, Bieber started playing clips of himself from YouTube, prompting Perry to joke that she is glad he has a premium subscription because she doesn't want to see ads.
While scores of people found her comment hilarious, Rose left a comment:
"Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne," she wrote. "Who gives a s*** what she thinks."
Scores of Threads users supported the actress, with one praising her for speaking up. Rose says the assault happened 20 years ago.
"I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly. Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me," she wrote.
Rose also shared details about the alleged sexual assault in another comment.
"She didn’t kiss me. She saw me 'resting' on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted [sic] on her."
A representative for Perry has denied the accusations, calling theem [sic] "reckless lies".
"The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies," the rep said, according to several reports.
"Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named."
Meanwhile, Rose has reportedly filed a o police report against Perry, telling one Threads user that she "just left the police station".
"She is more than welcome to sue me (she won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people). Plus, there is so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won’t want me discussing. The psychological manipulation was strong with that one."
