Kim Kardashian is spilling the tea on the real reason behind Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's 'photogate' drama.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made headlines in November last year when they were pictured dancing the night away at Kris Jenner's 70th birthday party.

The star-studded party, held at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Beverly Hills mansion, was attended by over 50 celebrities, including Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey, Paris Hilton and Justin Bieber.

Tech bosses such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg were also in attendance. The entire Jenner-Kardashian clan, Khloé Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner, took several pictures with their famous friends.

Kris and Kim were the first to upload images from their celebration on their Instagram pages. Both their posts feature photos of Prince Harry and Meghan

The pictures were quickly deleted, leading some social media users to speculate that the mother and daughter had not asked for the royal couple's permission.

This led to further claims that 'photogate' had ruined the family's relationship with the Sussexes.

Several reports claimed at the time that Kim was furious about the saga, noting that the paparazzi had already taken pictures of the couple outside the party.

Harry and Meghan were also photographed at a Baby2Baby event a few hours earlier with other celebrities, including Serena Williams.

During the latest episode of the 'Khloé in Wonderland' podcast, Kim set the record straight about what really happened. "Ugh. The photogate," Kim said when Khloé brought up the incident. "It was really innocent, which is so crazy."

The 45-year-old then explains that Kris and Meghan have been friends for "some years now", which is why they were invited. "They have a really sweet relationship," she said.

Kim stressed that the family were given permission to share the pictures. "We're all communicating about what we're going to post -  we're never ones to post without permission."

Khloé backed her up, "We're very respectful."

"We were told that it was totally cool to post, and then after it was posted, I think they realised it was Remembrance Day, "Kim continued, "And they didn't want to be seen at a party even though it was already up."

Khloé adds that the pictures were "dignified", and the couple attended the Baby2Baby event before arriving.

Kim pointed out that 'Baby2Baby' is a charity event, not a birthday party.

"We took them down to respect Remembrance Day, and you just have to laugh at the situation sometimes."

In true Kardashian style, the billionaire suggests leaning in to the drama.

"We should do a full SKIMS campaign. Take the photo... post it and then delete it like 30 minutes later. And then I say, 'Oh, sorry, I didn't have permission to post those photos for the campaign.'"

The Duchess of Sussex in SKIMS? Now that would break the internet!
