Kris Jenner has paid an emotional tribute to her mother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, following her passing at the age of 91, describing her as the heart of their family.
The Kardashian-Jenner family is mourning the loss of Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon.
On Thursday, Kris Jenner announced on Instagram that her mother had passed away at the age of 91. In an emotional tribute, the reality TV star reflected on the special bond they shared and the profound impact her mother had on her life.
"Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ," Jenner wrote alongside a broken heart emoji.
"There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family."
The 70-year-old momager described her mother as the heart and anchor of their family.
"My mom was the heart of our family. She taught me everything that truly matters… to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted. She taught us that family is everything. She showed us how to love unconditionally and how to find joy in the little moments. She showed me how to face life’s challenges with resilience and faith."
Jenner said her mother's legacy will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren.
"When I look at my kids and my grandkids, I will forever see pieces of you in all of us. There is not a part of me that isn’t shaped by you. And if I have done anything right in this world, it's because I spent my life trying to live in a way that would make you proud."
She also reflected on the moments she will miss most.
"I will miss our daily talks, your smile, your laughter… Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that love like yours never truly leaves us. Your love will live on in our family, in our traditions, in every moment we are together, and in every life you touched."
Jenner concluded her tribute by thanking her mother for her unconditional love and for the values she instilled in their family.

The family celebrated MJ Shannon's 90th birthday at a hotel party in San Diego, California, in 2025. Viewers of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' got to witness the love among family members.
MJ appreciated her family for their presence in her life. "How wonderful life is when you're in my world... that's all of you," MJ said at her party.
